Why We Need to Know about Your Medical History
We need to know about any existing medical conditions and any medications currently being used, including over-the-counter and prescription medications. All this information is essential in making sure we provide you with the best and most appropriate treatment based on your general health. To save time, you can download our medical history form from our website or if you prefer you can fill it in when you arrive at our practice.
Your First Visit Includes a Comprehensive Dental Examination
Our dentist will gently examine your mouth and may wish to take dental x-rays. A comprehensive examination is necessary to assess your current dental health and to check for any existing dental problems. During this appointment, we will also screen you for oral cancer. This is a quick and non-invasive examination of your oral tissues to check for any changes.
Once your examination is complete, we can discuss our findings with you, including the need for any treatments. We will also chat to you about possible preventative dental care treatments and how frequently we feel you need dental check-ups. We generally like to see people every six months, but if you have any health problems you might benefit from more frequent visits. For people who are committed to maintain their oral health, we have active management programme where you can get special pricing for checkup, clean, X-rays and fluoride treatments.
