Here at Smile Craft Dental, we like to ensure our patients benefit from the very latest technologies and we regularly update our equipment. Our technology includes:
We have the latest CEREC CAD/CAM technology, a state-of-the-art, chair-side system that allows us to create and place all ceramic veneers, inlays, onlays and crowns in a single appointment. There is no need for a messy impression and no need to wait weeks for your new restoration to be manufactured.
Instead of taking an impression of your tooth, it is scanned with our CEREC Omnicam scanner which is linked directly to our CEREC machine, helping us to efficiently design and make your new restoration while you relax in our comfortable surgery. The information from the scanner is used to custom-design your restoration before it is milled from a solid block of porcelain. Once completed, the restoration will be fitted and cemented in place.
Our milling machine uses the most advanced and precise technology for the construction of prosthodontics work such as veneers, crowns and implant components. It is extremely efficient as it has the ability to change tools as required.
We are proud to be the first dental practice in Australia to have CEREC Speed Fire, which is a furnace capable of making zirconia crowns in less than two hours. In the past this process required 24 hours in the furnace. Zirconia crowns are very high quality and incredibly strong, providing life-like restorations that are extremely durable.
This enables our clinicians to clean out root canals more effectively, so the process for cleaning and shaping the root canals will be smoother and more pleasant.
This is the very latest way to place root canal fillings. It helps to increase the speed of the procedure and the filling produced is of the very highest quality.
We use low-dosage digital dental x-rays that are extremely safe. Our equipment is regularly maintained and produces sharp images that can instantly be viewed by our dentists. This allows us to diagnose any problems more quickly and more accurately and we also use these images to plan treatments. If necessary, it is easy for us to email your x-rays to dental expert for a second opinion.
An intra-oral camera is a very small camera that takes detailed images of the inside of your mouth. This enables us to make a quick and accurate diagnosis. We can also show you these images on a computer screen which makes it much easier for you to understand any problems and for us to explain all possible treatment options. We find using this technology is a great way to help you understand your dental health and wellbeing so you can make an informed decision about any treatments required, or can simply learn more about your dental health and how best to maintain it.
If you need a crown, veneer, inlay or onlay then we can often make this restoration while you wait. All treatment can be completed during one comfortable visit and you will leave Smile Craft Dental with a high quality, precision made and long-lasting porcelain restoration.
If you require root canal therapy, we have advanced technology to help make this procedure more comfortable and more successful.
Our clinicians use the latest digital single lens reflex (SLR) cameras to take high quality photographs for treatment planning of cosmetic cases. These photos form part of patient’s medical records and are an excellent visual aid.
